What Sort of Wedding Cakes Go with None Traditional Vows
Today, not every bride, and groom includes the phrase “I do” in their wedding ceremony. For example, at a Baha’i wedding the couples says this phrase together: “We will verily abide by the will of God.” What sort of wedding cakes belong at a wedding where guests do not hear the traditional wedding vows?
Maybe that is a good place for one of the gourmet wedding cakes. If that is the case, then what makes a cake “gourmet”? Since most wedding celebrations in western countries have a cake flavored with vanilla, perhaps a cake with a different type of flavoring would be “gourmet.” Maybe a gourmet cake could have the taste of rose water. A Persian Baha’i might welcome the idea of selecting from among wedding cakes that carry the taste of rose water.
Still, a couple that has abandoned use of traditional vows might want to look beyond the gourmet cakes. They would probably be eager to examine the entire range of wedding cakes toppers. A couple with a good sense of humor might decide to have a humorous topper on their wedding cake.
A humorous wedding cake topper usually has two familiar faces. That topper normally has a woman that looks like the bride and a man that looks like the groom. The expression on those figures helps to make that topper rather humorous. Of course, not every couple feels ready to combine a touch of humor with their approach to a choice of wedding cakes.
A couple that has ruled out the inclusion of traditional vows in a wedding ceremony might embrace the idea of using a custom wedding cake topper. In that case, the couple would need to set aside time for a pre-wedding photograph session. This is not some sort of trial run for the big day. Rather, the photographer should shoot the couple in a pose and attire much like that of imagined figures on a wedding cake.
After examining the photograph taken before the wedding, the couple can then OK its use as a starting point for designing the requested customized topper. Of course, if the couple does not like the first photograph, then time will fly by while efforts are made to find a suitable photograph. In other words, any decision to use a customized cake topper should take into account the amount of time available for the creation of that topper.
Keep in mind too, that some wedding celebrations move outdoors during the serving of the cake. Therefore, some wedding cakes need to be protected from insects prior to time when they are to be cut and served. If a cake is going to have a sort of veil or other type of protection placed over it, then the guests view the cake topper for only a limited amount of time.
Sometimes in addition, a couple decides to have two awesome wedding cakes, one white cake, and one dark cake. That can make it difficult to arrive at a clever of meaningful topper for both cakes.
